Career and Technical Education has many opportunities for area employers in the counties of Adams, Blackford, Jay and Wells to partner with local school districts for Work Based Learning.  The partnership provides a number of benefits for the business, teacher and student. This cooperative partnership builds on the students career aspirations, skills and future employment or education pathway. 

Steps for partnering with CTE programs for Work Based Learning student placement 

1. Review your company’s needs and placement for a student in an aligned position within the company.
2. Call the local school district to reach out to the Work Based Learning Coordinator to discuss the following points

2. Duties of the student placement
3. Alignment to a program the school has in CTE
4. Type of student the business needs for the position
5. Paperwork involved in the process
6. Interviewing students
7. Selection process
8. Final Placement of a student
